ALRC Issues Paper: Serious Invasions of Privacy in the Digital Era
WLSA supports the creation of a statutory cause of action for serious invasions of privacy.
Increasing numbers of women are reporting serious invasions of privacy occurring in the context of family violence. Technological developments over the past 10-20 years now provide a variety of ways to track someone, access their email or social media accounts or record them throug the use of hidden cameras or microphones.
Women's Legal Services Victoria and the Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victoria prepared a submission to the Australian Law Reform Commission Issues Paper on this issue.
WLSA has endorsed the submission and the views put forward by the Women's Legal Service Victoria and the Domestice Violence Resource Centre Victoria.
