Calling for Better Complaints Mechanism for Family Law Consultants (February 2017)
The submission was made to the inquiry on the complaints mechanism administered under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law. THis submission focussed on the current lack of a clear and simple complaints mechanism for health practitioners who act as family consultants, single expert witnesses, or expert witnesses in family law proceedings.
This is in part due to the inadequacy of current arrangements under the Health Practitioner Regulaton National Law, as well as a lack of its integration with pertinent aspects of the Family Law Act.
