Senate Inquiry Submission - Domestic Violence and Gender Inequality (April 2016)
Given WLSA members' areas of practice, expertise and interest, this submission looked particularly on: "the role of government initiatives at every level in addressing underlying causes of domestic violence, including the commitments under, or related to, the National Plan to Reduce Violence Against Women and their Children".
Our detailed submission focused on the role of the government in adequately addressing gender inequality as both a cause and consequence of domestic violence in social and legal policy implementation as it relates to access to justice for women.
